Surviving the trump administration, A Daily Thread. Episode 21: Full Moon in Leo, or Creative Liberation

#sorrynotsorry for a second-day-in-a-row post in the astrology/tarot realm. I find a lot of hope and inspiration here, and it’s a place where I nurture my creativity and intuition. I know there’s a lot to commentate on (Google removing Black History Month, Pride Month, Women’s History Month, Indigenous People’s Month, Jewish Heritage Month, and Holocaust Remembrance Day from the calendar app; executive order for federal agencies to use plastic instead of paper straws; ANOTHER plane crash?!) BUT, today it’s a Full Moon in Leo and that’s what I want to write about.

I SWEAR, I had a tarot deck that featured a lion on the Sun card… but I just sucked up 45 minutes of down time between classes searching through my deck collection and realized that no, the lion is often featured on the Strength card, but not on the Sun card. So much for my clever idea to tie the theme of the Full Moon in Leo to yesterday’s tarot drawing of the Sun card. *sigh*

Well ANYWAY, the Full Moon in Leo brings transformative energy and invites us to be radiant (like the sun) and courageous (like a lion) and (according to one of my favorite sources https://www.moonomens.com/full-moon-in-leo-2025/ ) use our “personal creativity as a catalyst for collective progress.”

So, allow me to take some creative liberty here as I show you one of my favorite pieces of art in our house. It’s currently a little obstructed by the Christmas tree that is still up (because we’re good procrastinators and also because we have an emotional attachment to it). But this painting reminds us to look in the mirror and see more than our everyday selves. We can reflect and act with creativity and courage: like Katy Perry says, let’s channel our inner lions (yes, both the painting and the song are actually about tigers). Let’s be like the large brave feline of choice and let them hear us ROAR!
