We fight back.

Surviving the trump administration, A Daily Thread. Episode 37: We fight back.
All I could force myself to watch were some brief highlights from yesterday’s press conference with Zelensky vs. trumpvance, and all I can say is: it’s not ok to behave like trumpvance did. Talking over Zelensky, teaming up against him, telling Zelinsky that he had talked enough (and that he should be grateful?!) when he could barely get a word in over their belligerent nonsense – this is schoolyard bully behavior.
It's not surprising to see them behaving this way. It’s not new. They are bullies. They always have been.
What’s more – this COUNTRY has historically been a bully. We took land that didn’t belong to us, did our best to decimate the Indigenous population, and then forced those who remained onto reservations while kidnapping and trying to brainwash their children; we amassed our wealth on the backs of Black people who we enslaved and then lynched, segregated, and did our best to oppress.
So, seeing bully behavior from our leaders? Not surprising.
The thing is, a lot of us KNOW this now, in ways we hadn’t been fully aware of before. More and more of us are opening our eyes to it every day, and we’re ready to reckon with it so that we can turn a new page and build something more beautiful together.
The bullies are yelling louder and louder. They’re recruiting Influencer bullies to try to reach the masses and keep their legacy of bullying going. But: IT WON’T WORK. We, the masses, the MAJORITY, are doing the radical work of breaking the systems of oppression. No matter how much the bullies yell, no matter what else they try to take from us, WE FIGHT BACK. We fight back with compassion to one another, with rest, with joy, with hope, with positive action. We fight back with personal and community healing. We fight back with art and love and using our voices. We fight back by following the lead of the community activists who are already carrying the torch.
We fight back. The revolution is now.
